Worrell’s Plans Criticised (N.Z. Press Association— Copyright) LONDON, June 29. The Campaign against Racial Discrimination in Sport today condemned the proposed tour of South Africa by a team of West Indian cricketers led by Frank Worrell. .

The tour is scheduled to take place at the end of this year, and the West Indian team will play matches only against non-white teams in South Africa.

A statement issued by the campaign's committee today said It was felt that by agreeing to a tour under apartheid conditions the tourists would set “a dangerous precedent.”

“The committee affirms its belief that sport in South Africa should be conducted on the basis of merit and ability only, and not on the race of the participants.” the statement concluded. The Campaign against Racial Discrimination in Sport has as its president, the Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town, the Right Rev. Joost de Blank, and its supporters include the former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr Trygve Lie, and the Czechoslovakian athlete, Emil Zatopek.
