Al Bristol: Gloucestershire 323 and eight for 224 declared beat Cambridge University 139 and 95 (D. Allen five for 33) by 313 runs. At Taunton: Somerset 450 beat Kent 192 and 173 (J. Wilson 43, A. Phebey 77 not out; C. McCool seven for 49) by an innings and 85 runs. At Cardiff: Glamorgan 444 drew with Essex 367 and four for 74 (G. Barker 44) At Hinckley: Leicestershire 207 and 227 (W. Watson 70, A. Reville 63) lost to Northamptonshire six for 358 declared and none for 78 by nine wickets. At Birmingham: Middlesex six for 337 declared and 197 lost to Warwickshire 2?0 and four for 315 (N. Horner 173. A. Wolton 53 not out) by six wickets. ‘At Nottingham: Nottinhamshire 292 and 142 (G.
