INJURY TO REFEREE

Torn Achilles Tendon

A torn Achilles tendon suffered while he was refereeing the Univer-sity-Technical match at Lancaster Park Oval on June 6 will probably prevent Mr J. P. Malcolm from officiating at any further matches this year. Mr Malcolm was accidentally kicked in the leg during the match and had to leave the field. Mr A. K. Johnson told the management committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union last evening that he had seen Mr Malcolm in hospital and that his leg would be in plaster for a further six weeks.
