MEAL SERVICE AT CHATEAU

It appeared possible that the Tourist Hotel Corporation had deceived the Waitomo Licensing Committee ■ over the service of meals at the Chateau, the chairman of the committee, Mr G. J Donne, S.M., said at Taumarunui today Th? committee was considering, at «ts annual meeting, an npo.icaticn by the corporation for the renewal of the Chateau’s touris* hotel licence Mr Donne said the committee wished to reconsider the application, which was adjourned till the committee’s next meeting in September.
The committee was concerned &: recent press reports on dining room accommodation at the Chateau, said Mr Donne. According to reports there was no dining room available where people could be served by the staff When approval was given to alterations at the Chateau, the committee was advised that there would be both buffet and a la carte service.
