MAGISTRATE’S COURT

SATURDAY (Before Messrs W. A. Calwell and C. Serley, Justices of the Peace) REMANDED John Brian Ford, aged 26, was remanded in custody until today on a charge of attempting to break and enter a shop at 208 Waltham road on June 13. Sergeant V. F. Townshend opposed the granting of bail. A youth, whose name was suppressed, was remanded to June 19, on a charge of converting a car valued at £l5OO at Blenheim on January 31. Eric John Stephens was fined £3, and Neil Francis Mahalm, aged 40, was fined £2 for being found drunk in a public place. It was Stephens’s third offence and i Mahalm’s second offence within the last six months. |
