THEFT OF COPPER WIRE ALLEGED

(New Zealand Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, June 14.

A 33-year-old New Plymouth motor mechanic, William John Simmons, was remanded to appear in Christchurch on June 19 on a charge of stealing 15181 b of copper wire, valued at £125 18s when he appeared before Mr A. J. Haub, J.P., in the Magistrate’s Court at New Plymouth yesterday. Simmons is charged with stealing the copper wire, the property of the Springs-Ellesmere Electric Power Board, between October 24 and November 7, 1958.
