Auckland Retains English Trophy

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 14.

Auckland retained the English Trophy when it beat Waikato, 3-1, in the first soccer challenge of the season at Blandford Park on Saturday. The attendance was about 2000.

Waikato was very seldom in the picture. Auckland was a welldrilled team on a muddy ground. Middleton (2), and Brown scored for Auckland. Simonsen scored for Waikato. The half-time score was Auckland 1, Waikato 0.
