G Haughey. senior veti;erinarian of the Ashburton Vetfierinary Club, told the recent -i Lincoln Collese farmers’ confer>fence that there did not seem to > have been any marked effect P where the drug had been used -iin five trials, including one with H phenothiazine, with 430 lambs. ?! It had. however, to be admitted . that these trials had been coni ducted after what was considered >■ to be the most troublesome perhxi ? with nematodirus, said Mr Haughey. but for the reason that i unthrifty lambs frequently aid not 3' carry heavy worm burdens he did not consider that the drug would . j significantly contribute to the coni ] trol of ill-thrift in Mid-Canter- ? bury. In addition the cost vary- - ing from 2s to 3s a dose would . act against its use.
