The British Ambassador to the Philippines, Mr G. L. Clutton, will arrive in Christchurch by air from Australia next Wednesday on a 10-day visit. Mr Clutton will visit Mount Cook, Wairakei, Rotorua, and Waitomo before leaving Auckland in the Oronsay on June 26. —(P.A.)

Captain R. E. Chambler, officer commanding the Southern Military District signals troop for the last six years, will leave Christchurch tomorrow for Waiouru. Captain Chambler has been posted as signals officer of the Army battalion to relieve later in the year the New Zealand unit at present serving in Malaya. His successor in Christchurch is Lieutenant D. G. Rodda. Mr T. F. Latham has been appointed a member of the Little River Domain Board to fill a vacancy caused by the death of Mr W. H. Montgomery.
