Furlough is granted at the end of a term of service at the rate of one month for each year of service. Fares for the appointee and his wife and dependent children under the age of 16 years are paid from the place of- appointment in New Zealand to Apia, provided the appointee remains for one year in his position. Return fares are paid if the appointee remains for three years or if the appointment is terminated through no fault of the appointee. Freight on personal effects (up to a specified limit) will be oavable as an official charge. Subject to prior approval of the arrangements storage charges on effects left in New Zealand will be paid.
