D. Connor May Come To N.Z.

(Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) BRISBANE, June 2. New Zealand’s search of a topclass Rugby half-back could be over. The Queensland and Australian half-back, Desmond Connor told the New Zealand Press Association today that he might settle permanently in New Zealand. Last Saturday night Connor announced his engagement to Miss Jan Taylor, an Auckland girl, and is at present weighing his future between Australia and New Zealand. One of the finest half-backs New Zealand has .seen since the war. Connor, who earned a reputation in New Zealand last year, is a physical education specialist teaching in the Brisbane area, and intends investigating the possibility of obtaining a similar position in New Zealand.

One of the longest-passing halfbacks In the game. Connor will play against the British Isles at Brisbane tonight, and has also been selected to play for Australia against the British Isles next Saturday.
