PLANNING NEW SCIENCE BUILDING FOR UNIVERSITY.—Leading architects of ,the Ministry of Works yesterday visited Christchurch to discuss preliminary plans for the new science building for the University of Canterbury at Riccarton. It is expected that the 300,000 sq ft of floor space will be arranged in multi-storeyed blocks, that sketch plans will be ready in a few months, and that tenders will be called within two years. The architects discussed the type of building, its utility for science departments’ needs, and its effect on the over-all plan for the new university. SEATED: The new Government Architect (Mr F. G.
