MINOR FIRES

An electric oven was damaged by fire and the kitchen suffered smoke damage when the oven at Mr H. Warren’s house at 327 Avonhead road caught fire yesterday afternoon. Units from the Central and Sockburn fire stations were called at 3.53 p.m There was no damage when a chimney caught fire at Mr L. W Madden’s home at 487 Tuam street at 8.35 a.m. yesterday. One unit from the Woolston fire station attended.
