COMPETITIONS FESTIVAL
Capacity Houses For Concerts Capacity houses attended the two final demonstration concerts in the Civic Theatre on Saturday which brought to a close the IflfcO festival organised by the Christchurch Competitions Society. During the two three-hour variety concerts ptiany of the talented performers displayed excellent stage sense, confidence and charm. There was prolonged applause at the beginning and end of each act. During the interval at the evening concert, the patron of the society (Mr H. Cordery) presented the competitors with their cups and trophies and the president (Mr J. T. O’Brien) thanked the public for its support. Challenge Cups and trophies were awarded as follows:Speech and Drama Ronald E.
