Inter-Club Squash

It is expected that the interclub squash rackets competition in Christchurch will begin again soon. Last season’s competition, the first to be held in the city, attracted an entry of six teams, these including two from the Christchurch club, and one each from the Junior Chamber, Officers’ Club, Wigram and Christ’s College. All the above clubs will probably support the competition again this year, and it is possibe that a greater number of teams will be entered. Christchurch is the only centre in the Dominion with more than one club, so no inter-club competitions are conducted elsewhere in New Zealand. In some other centres, notably Palmerston North, Timaru and Oamaru, the game is further developed, but all the players play at the same club.
