Fined £3 For Using Obscene Language
David Lewis . Hoy, aged 24, vegetable cook in the liner Rangitoto, pleaded guilty before Messrs W. T. Lester and F. G. Briggs, Justices of the Peace, at the Lyttelton Magistrate’s Court yesterday, to a charge of using obscene language in Oxford street. He was convicted and fined £3. On a similar charge, Joseph Thomas Lack, a seaman in the Cape Nelson, who pleaded not guilty, was convicted and fined £3.
