TREES SOLD FOR EXPORT

Northland School’s Enterprise (New Zealand Press Association) WHANGAREI, May 14. The committee of the Glenbervie School, near Whangarei, has sold about 180 pine trees to the Japanese for £350. The money will all be spent on the children. A spokesman for the committee said today that the deal was arranged by the committee with Kaipara Forests, the company which is shipping tir.ber out of Whangarei to Japan. A Japanese ship is due at Whangarei on Saturday to load timber. The trees were planted on school property by the people of the district about 20 years ago. They belonged to the school committee, not the Auckland Education Board, said the spokesman.
