New Commander Of U.S. Air Defence
(Rec. 10 p.m.) WASHINGTON. May 7.
General Laurence Kuter has been named Comman'er-in-Chiei of the North American Air Defence Command. President Eisenhower announced the appointment, which is effective from *uly 31, after consultation with the Canadian Government, which shares the command. Genera] Kuter, who is 54, will succeed General Earle Partridge, who is retiring.
