Remanded On Assault Charge
(New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, May 5.
A more serious charge could be pending, Inspector C. A. G. Mcßae said when he applied for a remand for Daniel John Martin, aged 29, railway employee, charged with assaulting Marion Wilkinson at Mount Allan, about 22 miles from Dunedin on May 1. Martin was remanded on bail until Thursday. Mr A. P. McAlevey represented the accused.
Inspector Mcßae said that th? full extent of Wilkinson’s injuries were not yet known. She was Martin’s de facto wife.
