FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anti-cyclone centred in the central Tasman Sea extends on to New Zealand. A cold front is moving eastwards off Tasmania into the western Tasman. Forecast:— Buller, north Westland, Nelson and Marlborough: Light or moderate winds from a northerly quarter; fair; moderate or mild afternoon temperatures. Outlook: fair to cloudy. Canterbury: Fair weather; moderate to fresh northeasterlies with cool to moderate temperatures near the coast; light or moderate north-westerlies developing inland, with milder temperatures. Outlook: fair. South Westland: Moderate north-westerlies developing; cloudy, with mild temperatures. Outlook; some showers. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
