Taxation

Sir,—“Far Back Dan” in his letter on Saturday made two untrue statements. Mr Nash (more properly the Labour Government) has kept every promise made up to the present. The second untrue statement is that the Labour Government paid a pound to the rich and only 2s 6d to the poor. I received the pound increase in universal superannuation and I am very far from rich. So are thousands of others who received it. “Far Back Dan” is one of those pseudo-broad-minded people who are utterly intolerant of everybody’s opinion but their own. —Yours, etc., A.F.P.
