Grave-Robbers

Sir, —While having every sympathy with those whose graves have been desecrated, I protest most strongly at the injustice done to the local headmaster. He is at all times most co-operative and I know from what my own children say that they have been warned against playing in the cemeteries. However, schoolteachers are surely not to blame for children’s behaviour after school hours. The ultimate responsibility rests with the parents —a responsibility all too easily relegated to others.—Yours, etc., (Mrs) F. G. OXLEY. April 14, 1959.
