END-OF-SEASON FUNCTION
Canterbury Association Prize-Giving The Canterbury Croquet Association held its end-of-season prizegiving function at the United club’s lawns yesterday. Mr W. H. Kirk, president of the association, congratulated the winners. The season, he said, had been very successful and many Canterbury players had distinguished themselves not only in their own association’s fixtures, but in other fixtures throughout New Zealand. The winners of the association’s shields were as follows:—senior. United No.- 2; pennant, Redcliffs; intermediate, Sumner; B grade, Fendalton Park; C grade, Kaiapoi. Mrs W. H. Kirk, representing the New Zealand Croquet Council, presented the council’s silver buttons. Those who received them were:—A grade, Mrs W. L. Martin (United): intermediate grade, Mrs W. Ellis (United); B grade, G. A. Webb .(Sumner); C grade, Mrs G. Pow I (St. James* Park).
