Obituary Mr K. A. Ross
fNew Zealand Press Association) HASTINGS, April 14. Mr Kenneth Alexander Ross, a well-known Hawke’s Bay author and mountaineer, died recently aged 95. Mr Ross, like his brother, Malcolm, has several works in the Turnbull Library, Wellington. He was a keen mountaineer, and took a leading role in a film on that subject a few years ago. The film, which was shown overseas featured the opening of the Mount Aspiring hut by Mr Ross. Mr Ross and his brother were well-known for their journalistic work during the First World War, during which Malcolm was a New Zealand war correspondent, later travelling with Royalty. He leaves a daughter, Mrs Hinemoa Ross-Couper, Havelock; North, and one grandchild, Julieth Couper.
