MEETING AT ADDINGTON

Approval For Programme

The New Zealand Trotting Conference has approved the Canterbury Park Trotting Club’s programme for its winter meeting at Addington on May 23. Stakes of £4lOO will be distributed.

The main race, the Winter Handicap, will carry a stake of £7OO and will be run over one mile and a quarter with a limit of 2.46. The same stake will be offered later in the day for the Final Handicap, which will be run over 13 furlongs with a limit of 3.39. The main race for trotters, the Members’ Handicap, will be run over 13 furlongs with a limit of 3.47 and a take of £550. The Addington Handicap, the slowclass trotters’ race, will carry a stake of £4OO and will also be run over 13 furlongs with a limit of 3.51. The other races cater for slowclass pacers. The Advance Handicap, with a stake of £4OO, will be run over 13 furlongs with a limit of 3.49. Horses in this race will be driven by probationary horsemen.
