SEASAUCER OF THE FUTURE.—An artist’s conception of a seagoing saucer which some day may skim across the ocean eight feet above the water. This 40,000-ton “flying saucer” would ride along at 100 knots on a cushion of high-pressure air created by huge fans fore and aft. Since the vessel would not touch the sea, its voyage would be smooth and stable in all weather. About 330ft in diameter, the ship could be used to accommodate 1000 passengers.
