B.P. DIVIDEND RAISED

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 14. The British Petroleum Company, Ltd., is raising its dividend by the equivalent of 3d a stock unit this year. At a board meeting of the company held in London last Thursday, it was decided to recommend a final dividend on issued ordinary stocks of Is 3d per £ 1 unit of stock, free of income tax. making total dividend for the year ended December 31. 1958. of Is 9d per £1 unit of stock free of income tax on present increased capital. Announcing this today B.P. (New Zealand) Ltd., said the corresponding total dividend for last year was equivalent to Is 6d per £1 unit of stock free of income tax on present increased capital. The group’s consolidated accounts show the following details:—Taxation (United Kingdom and overseas): £70.452.428. Group net income, after taxation: £61,922.563. Dividends, ordinary stock: £17,710,117. Appropriated to general reserve: £36,500.000 Group Sales: 62,000,000 tons. Taxation provision takes recent budget changes into account.
