CATCHING A SATELLITE CAPSULE.—An artist’s conception of how the 1951b nose cone of the returning Discoverer II earth satellite would be fielded out of the air. The attempt may be made in the region of the Pacific missile range, south-west of Hawaii, later this month. A fleet of United States Air Force Cll9 transport aircraft, equipped with large trailing nets, is in Hawaii ready for the experiment. Should one of the aircraft fail to recover the capsule, two destroyers patrolling the area will attempt to pick it up.
