Yaldhurst Branch Of W.D.F.F.

Mrs T. A. Guy (president) reported on the year’s work at the annual meeting of the Yaldhurst branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers of New Zealand, held recently. The following gifts were made during the year: £l5 to Community Chest. £l5 to the new headquarters fund. £1 Is to the housekeeper fund and £5 to the provincial building fund. Gifts of home-made biscuits and used magazines were given to the Sunnyside Hospital, handkerchiefs and Christmas gifts to elderly patients at Burwood Hospital and small gifts were given to the appeal for lepers. The president welcomed Mesdames H. A. Denham and R. G Wolff from the Christchurch branch and Mrs Wolff gave a talk on her tour of the southern States of the United States Annual competition results were announced as follows: Mrs Guy 1. Mrs T. A Crawford 2. Mrs F C. Chappell 3. The Bearman rose bowl was awarded to Mrs Guy and the Yaldhurst Federated Farmers’ Cup to Mrs Chappell. The following officers were elected:— President. Mrs T. A. Guy; vicepresidents, Mesdames W E. Wrigh and C. Campion: secretarytreasurer. Mrs H. Tomes; competition secretary, Mrs P. Berry; advisory members, president and Secretary.
