AIR VICE-MARSHAL H. D. McGREGOR, a New Zealander, who has been appointed Air Officer Com-manding-in-Chief, Fighter Command, Royal Air Force, from August 1. He will succeed Air Chief Marshal Sir Thomas Pike, who will become Chief of Air Staff next January. Air ViceMarshal McGregor is 49. He was born at Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay, and has been Director of Air Defence at Supreme Headquarters, Allied Powers, Europe, since March, 1957. He entered the R.A.F. in 1928.
