SHOP WINDOWS DAMAGED

Glass Scored With Sharp Object

The plate glass windows of six Colombo street shops were deeply scored with a sharp object some time on Friday night. The owner of the Adelphi milk bar, Mrs B. Stannick, found the window of her premises damaged when she arrived on Saturday morning. Five other shops on the northern corner of Cathedral square and northwards up Colombo street, were also damaged. Altogether 10 windows were scored. The other premises damaged are: Munns Ltd., men’s outfitters, Reynold’s chemists. Robert Francis’s electrical appliance shop, the Dominion Book Company, Ltd., and Woodward’s, tocconists. Several of the windows may have to be replaced. The police have been notified.
