Sunnyside Beats Irwell, 14-0
Sunnyside - Spreydon beat Irwell by 14 points to nil at Sunnyside. The combined backs again showed splendid attacking form and the three-quarters made several breaks through a weak defence. The five-eighths, V. Sykes and T. Tiplady, were links for much of the game but when they chose to go through they did not lose contact with their outside backs.
The Sunnyside-Spreydon forwards. led by P. Harris, R. Hughes and J. Struthers, kept the Irwell pack subdued for long spells, but towards the end ot the match, the Irwell forwards drove through and kept play in Sunnyside-Spreydon territory. For Sunnyside-Spreydon, G. Soper, R. Payne, G. Telfer and G. Kinzett scored tries and B. Kilworth converted one try. The referee was Mr W. H. Oliver.
