Crusade’s Effect In Wellington

(New Zeaiana Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 12.

Increased attendances at church services in Auckland today testified to the impact made by the Billy Graham Crusade said church leaders tonight. The Rev. R. F. Clement, of the Pitt Street Methodist Church, said that at the services today people were present who had not attended regularly before, and there was a new exhilaration.

St. Aidan’s Anglican Church, in Remuera, has received 130 cards for people who had made commitments, and many of them were at church today. New faces were particularly noticeable jxmong the younger people, the Rev. A. Charles said.

The Rev O. T. Baragwanath, of St. David’s Presbyterian Church, in Khyber Pass road, reported outstandingly good attendances today and last Sunday. Wellington Attendances

A sprinkling of newcomers and usually irregular church-goers in Wellington congregations today marked the first Sunday following the crusade. Most ministers were happy about the numbers, although a number of the people who had made “decisions” at the crusade had turned out to be regular church attenders.

The holding of the Salvation Army’s annual congress citizens’ rally in the Town Hall today made it difficult to judge the effect of the Graham crusade, said the field secretary. Colonel N. E. Bicknell.
