LORD NELSON’S SNUFF BOX

Burglary From Churchhill (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, April 8. Thieves who raided Sir Winston Churchill’s London home in Hyde Park Gate on March 31 got away with more valuable and ancient objects than it was first realised. Police were told yesterday that a gold snuff box, which once belonged to Lord Nelson, and a “lesser George” badge of a Knight of the Garter were missing. Sir Winston Churchill returned to London on Monday night after a holiday in the south of France. The valuables stolen, which included some of Lady Churchill’s furs and jewellery, are valued at £lO,OOO.
