Ranfurly Shield Challenges
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 9. Taranaki, holders of the Ranfurly Shield, will play 16 matches in the coming Rugby season, including seven shield challenges. The first challenger will be Nelson playing in the first shield game in its history. This will be on July 22. The other special challenge has peen granted to East Coast on September 19.
The remaining shield challenges will be played on July 29 v. Wanganui; August 22, v. Wellington; August 26, v. Otago;,September 5, v. Southland; and September 12, v. Auckland.
