Borough Council Clerks
Increases In the minimum rates of pay are given by the Canterbury Borough Councils and Town Boards Clerical Workers' sward just issued by the Court of Arbitration. Town clerks, any worker receiving more than £9M a year, and clerks engaged for elections or polls are excluded from the award. The increases in rates of pay for males are £S for the first, second and third years, £• tor the fourth and fifth years, £ll for the sixth to tenth years, and £l5 for the eleventh to fourteenth years. For females the increases are £5 far the first, second arid third years, £8 for the fourth, fifth and sixth years, and ClB for the seventh, eighth and ninth years. A new clause says that a worker who acts principally as eashier shall be- paid 5s M a week as a risk allowance. The award earns Into fbcea on January 18 and embodies the terms of settlement aMvad at by the assessors in Concillatiim Council.
