FALSE INCOME RETURNS
Company Director Fined £65
(New Zealana Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 3. On nine charges of making false returns of income to which he pleaded guilty, Huia James Courtney, a company director, of Lower Hutt, was fined a total of £65 by Mr J. R. Drummond, S.M., in the Lower Hutt Magistrate’s Court today. Mr J. D. Murray, prosecuting, said the charges covered the years 1949 to 1957, inclusive. Tax deficiencies for the period amounted to £5483, he said.
