PACIFIC TRAVEL CONFERENCE

Officials Discuss Arrangements

Preliminary arrangements for the conference in Christchurch next February of the Pacific Area Travel Association have been made in-the last two days. Mr N. F. Gough, director of the travel division of the Tourist and Publicity Department, Mr N. E. Lobb, chief executive officer of the New Zealand Holiday and Travel Asosciation, and Mr A. G. Feslier, public relations officer of the National Airways Corporation, have been in Christchurch, and with Mr M. B. Hayes, the City Council's public relations officer Mr T. D. Hunt, secretary of the South Island Publicity Association, and Mr E. G. Beckett, public relations officer of the Canterbury Progress League, have inspected the facilities for the meeting, which is expected to draw 300 to 400 visitors, delegates and their wives from 23 countries.

The Civic Theatre will be used for the main business sessions, and the civic chambers will be the headquarters for the conference. with it and council committee rooms being available for meetings.
