ST. MARGARET’S COLLEGE

Tenders Soon For Old Property

Tenders will shortly be called for the buildings of St. Margaret's College and the three-quarters of an acre of leasehold land on which they stand, in Cranmer square.

The main two-storey school building is the major block; there is also a pavilion and sundry outbuildings. The land on which they stand is let on a 99-year-lease, by the Christchurch Property Trustees, and has about 56 years to run. The main building was erected about 40 years ago, and was of wooden construction, said the Bursar (Mr E. P. Wills). Two open-air classrooms on the property might be moved to the new school site.

Tenders would be called as soon as the necessary papers were prepared, fre said.
