Officers Elected (New Zeatana Press Association) NAPIER, March 1. The United Fire Brigades’ Association of New Zealand elected the following ' officers today at Napier:—
Patron, Sir Arthur Harper; president. Chief Fire Officer J. A. Max (Nelson); senior vicepresident, Chief Fire Officer J. W. Grant (Greymouth); junior vicepresident, Chief Fire Officer C. A. Nightingale (Oamaru); Fire Services Council representative, Chief Fire Officer N. G. Buick (Palmerston North); immediate past-president, . Deputy - Chief Officer D. S. Butcher (Stratford); secretary-treasurer, Third Officer H. L. Warner (Hawera). Chief Fire Officer Butcher was made an honorary life member of the association. Officers of the New Zealand Fire Brigades’ Institute were elected as follows: President, Chief Fire Officer G. N. Buick (Palmerston North); council, Fireman J. A. Buckland and Senior Fireman G. A. Grey; secretary. Third Officer H. L. Warner (Hawera). Diplomas were presented as follows: Full membership, Deputy-Chief Fire Officer P. K. Bertan-Wood (Wanganui), Station Officer N. A. Wood (Wanganui); associate members. Third Officer E. J. Carroll (Days Bay); distinction, Third Officer D. J. Sims (Kinleith), Fireman B. A. Nisbett (Rotorua), Fireman M. C. M. Fearon (Kairerau), SubOfficer J. A. M. Phillips (Wanganui), Fireman J. Davies (Wanganui).
