Dr. Woodard Intends To Return To N.Z.
(New Ze ’and Press Association) WANGANUI, March 1. Dr. Christopher Woodard, the Harley street faith-healer, is almost sure to return to New Zealand this year in spite of objections made by some church authorities. In a letter received in Wanga- . nui, Dr. Woodard said he had received "literally hundreds of letters following Archbishop Owen’s statement—and all want me back. “Some <of. these were , from ■ pathetic cases,” he said. "I am primarily a doctor and doctors don’t turn down appeals from the sick. I am the last person to want to offend the Church, but when an archbishop places such an embargo on me as yours has done then you ought not to be surprised at me preferring to be guided by the Holy Spirit.”
