Aid To Pasture Recovery
To allow growth to come away again on drought-stricken pastures after the rain last weekend, an Ashburton farmer has suggested that farmers might close up as many paddocks as they can by keeping sheep confined for the next two weeks. Using concentrates or dry supplementary feed to sustain them. If bare paddocks were not spelled, he said, stock would almost certainly keep pace with the fresh growth and this would not be of much help when it came to winter.
