FUTURITY STAKES

Lord Picked At Caulfield

(N.Z.- Press. Association—Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) MELBOURNE, February 27. The New Zealand-bred horse. Lord, carrying 10-6, is expected to win the Futurity Stakes, over seven furlongs, at Caulfield tomorrow.

Lord, the best weight-for-age galloper at present racing in Australia, has won his last nine races in succession at Caulfield. He has not been beaten on this track in 12 months.

Lord’s last win was In the St. George Stakes, over nine furlongs, at Caulfield last Saturday. In that race he led all the way, to win easily. Experts do not expect the champion to win as comfortably tomorrow.

Included in the small but select field of nine are Ceasar, Skyline. New Spec, and another New Zealand horse, Young Idealist. All have been given chances of toppling Lord.
