DOUBLE CENTURY FOR I. WYATT

Hawke Cup Came At Nelson (New Zealand Press Association) NELSON. Feb. 27. Nelson, the holders, were in a strong position at the end of the first day of the Hawke Cup cricket match against Poverty Bay. at Nelson today. In a day of brisk scoring, Nelson, in its first innings, scored 444. At close of play, Poverty Bay had. scored 14 runs fdr the loss of one wicket. I. Wyatt, a former Northland and Auckland representative, was in top form with an attractive innings of 202. He was at the wicket for 319 minutes and hit 27 fours. I. Ching made 81, which included 16 fours. He and Wyatt put on 201 runs for the fifth wicket. R. Barbour, the Poverty Bay medium pace bowler, took six wickets for 148 in a marathon 55 overs, 15 of which were maidens.
