U.S. WEATHER SATELLITE

Steady Flow Of Reports

(Rec. 7.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, February 26.

After a week in orbit and almost 100 circuits of the earth, the world’s first weather satellite, Vanguard 11, has produced a more steady flow of data than any previous satellite vehicle, the “New York Times” reported today.

On all but one of its passes over tracking stations it has promptly answered the interrogating signal from the ground with a complete report on its last trip around the earth.

Tape recordings from Australia, Chile and elsewhere will be fed into a chain of electronic devices at the Army signal research and engineering development laboratory at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey.
