Commissioners Appointed
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 27. The appointment of two New Zealand trade commissioners in the United States were announced today by the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Holloway). The appointments are Mr J. L. Fenaughty, head of the trade promotion branch of the Department of Industries and Commerce, who will become trade commissioner in San Francisco, a new appointment, and Mr A. W. Broadbent, head of the trade relations branch of the department for the last four years, who will replace Mr G. L. EasterbrookSmith in Washington. Mr Holloway said San Francisco will be New Zealand’s fourth trade post in North America—the others being Washington, New York and Montreal. The trade commissioner will be associated with the office of the ConsulGeneral in San Francisco (Mr R. M. Firth), who has previously helped in handling trade inquiries. The new head of the trade relations branch will be Mr J. B. McGuire, who was, until recently, New Zealand Trade Commissioner in Bombay.
