Certain To Win

The Yaldhurst trainer, M. Holmes, looks almost certain to win the trophies given by the New Brighton Trotting Club for the most successful trainer and driver at the club’s four meetings this season. The club will give a sulky to the leading trainer and a canteen of cutlery to the leading driver. The two trophies are valued at about £l5O. Holmes has 20% points on the list of successful trainers, compared with nine by W. K. Tatterson, eight and a half by W. R. Butt, and eight by R. H. Negus. Holmes has 28% points on the drivers’ list—well clear of W. K. Tatterson, with 13, S. A. Edwards with eight and a half, and W. R. Butt with eight. The New Brighton Club will hold its final meeting for the season tomorrow and it Is unlikely that any trainer or driver will be able to head Holmes’s totals.
