Additions To St. Joseph’s School

A two-storeyed building has been added th St Joseph’s School. Papanui, to accommodate the increasing roll number. The roll has doubled in the last 10 years. The building is of brick with reinforced concrete columns. There is an assembly hall a'nd a kitchen block on the ground floor and three classrooms on the tbp floor. Though the building will not be completed until March 1 one classroom is already in use. It has been a community effort by the parishioners of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church and a lot of the work has been done by voluntary labour under the direction of the contractor. Specialised work has been done by sub-con-tractors. The assembly hall will be used as a community hall.
