Rivet Cartridges Stolen

Four packets of cartridges, each containing 50 rounds, were stolen from the workshop of A. and T. Burt, Ltd., sub-contractors to P. Graham and Son, Ltd., at the site of the new railway station building in Moorhouse avenue during the week-end. It was . stated that the cartridges, which are used for driving steel rivets into concrete, could be dangerous in inexperienced hands. They are large, have a powerful charge, and can be detonated by a blow. They were described by members of the Criminal Investigation Branch as being about an inch long and three-eighths of an inch thick with a copper case. They contain a yellow powder.
