The six-year-old Buzzie, one of Melbourne’s best mudlarks, staged a whirlwind run from last to first to win the Gisborne Handicap, of £l5OO, at Moonee Valley yesterday. Buzzie (8 to 1) caught the favourite. Conamara (3 to 1), a furlong from the post. Throwing mud in all directions Buzzie went past the post at ease to win by two lengths. Sandara (10 to 1) was one length away, third. Muzzie’s trainer, Brian Courtney, said he cheered when he heard heavy rain in Melbourne last night. “Buzzie loves the mud and I know it doesn't take a lot of rain to make the going soft at Moonee Valley.’*
